to write some songs, this one took 5 minutes.

EP on the way
I've been recording some of my songs with a plan to put them together as an EP soon, I'm not sure what I'll do with it once it's ready to go but it's something fun to do over the Summer. You can hear some of the recordings in their unmastered and slightly-rough-around-the-edges state here:

I have one problem though. I keep writing songs that would go nicely with these ones, so perhaps this EP will turn into a home-made album that I might then go off and record properly. Who knows?
I'm on tour with Laura James & The Lyres at the moment which is going really well, and I've been playing support sets for us at the gigs which has been a really interesting experience, having previously not played a proper solo gig, so it's fun to see which songs work live better than others and hear what different people have to say about my writing.
Once I'm off the tour (at the end of next week) I will be getting back to writing/recording my own material, and also making and recording music with my dear friend, the ever-so-talented Frankie Davies, so lots of things in the pipeline, stay tuned!

Think Of You
A proper recording of a song I've already put up as a video on here, so I won't say much about it, except that it will be going on an EP that I'm putting together that I'm quite excited about.
Hope you enjoy it.

I wrote a story
Inspired by my talented writer of a friend Mike (check his blog out here), I wrote a story and it even has a happy ending! I hope you like it.

Cornwall is a gem
Been on a little trip up to near Land's End to see my buddy Mike (check his blog here). Spent a week and a half deeply chilling, surfing, bronzing and larking around.
Here are some nice photos from a bike ride we went on to a place he had never been before.

The swings were empty,
so I swung,
Mike had fun,
and the sun shone out of my bum.
Then we sat on some goalposts.
All in all, Cornwall truly is a beautiful place and I am looking forward to returning soon.

Agapanthus Lyrical
I played at the 'Agapanthus Lyrical Festival' this weekend, which is a festival for songwriters and poets. They put on two music events, called the Dusk & Dawn Concerts. As you can guess, one was at dusk out the West of the island, for sunset, and one was at the crack of dawn on the East side of the island, for sunrise.
For some reason, I opted to go for the early dawn concert, thinking it would be really cool to play as the sun was coming up, but not really considering that I would have to be playing at 4.45am.
Anyway, I played just two songs of mine, and so I thought I'd do a little video of one of those songs, unfortunately this was very late last night, so I was very tired and my face looks stupid.

Ekatron
In my efforts to a) turn my hand to as many instruments as I can/can afford and b) annoy my parents, I recently bought myself a 3rd, 4th, maybe even 5th hand fan driven chord organ!
The only info I can get on it is that it was made in Italy by a company called Giaccaglia, and it's an Ekatron Chord Organ.
The thing is rad.
It has a set of pipes for the keys, and a separate set of pipes for the chords/bass notes.
There's a volume control on it, that, when turned to 'Loud', makes the fan in the bottom whir up to a higher speed and give a little squeak of joy.
Hours of fun/noise to be had.

On Tuesday night we played at Calva Bar for BBC Radio 1's One Big Weekend Warmup party for BBC Introducing.
My very talented friend Frankie Davies made a nice video of us playing Bottled Dreams.
First Post!
Well. This is my first post.
I've been playing a lot as part of Laura James & The Lyres recently.
I was even allowed on the banjo for a song...
